“LATIN AMERICANS IN D.C.” Annual Juried Exhibit at The Espacio Cultural Salvadoreño Art Gallery, Washington, D.C.

“Latin Americans In D.C.”, is a selection of new works by District of Columbia painters on view at the Espacio Cultural Salvadoreño Art Gallery from April 5th, 2002 through May 17th, 2002. The gallery is located at 1724 20th Street, NW (between R & S Streets) and open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be a reception on Friday April 5th, 2002 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to honor the artists on exhibit put the names of the artists chosen in this area and to celebrate the opening.
The Espacio Cultural Salvadoreño Art Gallery is a center dedicated to promoting emerging visual artists from Latin America and to exhibiting the finest contemporary art from Latin America in the city. “This exhibit is a celebration of the thriving and culturally alive Latino community here in the District of Columbia”, said Mario Cader-Frech, Director of the gallery. “The works of these painters are testimonies to the depth and breadth that exists within the Latino community right here in our great city.

The jury for the exhibition consisted of members of the Washington area visual arts community. Ms. Annie Adjchavanic (Executive Director, WPA/Corcoran), Mr. M.V. Clark (Executive Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art), Dr. Claudia Rousseau (Professor, Maryland College of Art & Design) and Ms. Olga Herrera ( Program Director, Latino Initiatives, Smithsonian Institution). “LATINOAMERICANOS EN D.C.” Competencia y exhibición anual en la galería de arte del Espacio Cultural Salvadoreño, Washington, DC.

“Latinoamericanos en D.C.” Una selección de obras por pintores residentes del Distrito de Columbia exhibidas en la galería de arte del Espacio Cultural Salvadoreño del 5 de abril al 17 de mayo del corriente. La gallería esta ubicada en el 1724 20th Street, NW (entre las calles R y S) y está abierta de lunes a viernes de las 8:00 AM hasta las 3:00 PM. La recepción de inauguración en honor a los artistas de la exhibición, incluir aqui los nombres de los artistas, se llevará a cabo el viernes 15 de abril, de 6:00 a 8:00 PM en la gallería.
La galería de arte del Espacio Cultural Salvadoreño es un centro dedicado a la promoción de las artistes plásticas de Latino América y a la exhibición del arte contemporáneo latinoamericano mas exiquisito de la ciudad. “Esta exhibición es una celebración de la comunidad cultural latinoamericana viva y vibrante del Distrito de Columbia”, expresó Nicolás F Shí, director de la galería. “Las obras de estos pintores son testimonio de la amplitud y profundidad existente dentro la comunidad latina aqui mismo en nuestra gran ciudad capital”.

El jurado de la exhibición esta compuesto por miembros de la comunidad de artes plásticas del área metropolitana de Washingon. Srta. Annie Adjchavanic (Directora Ejecutiva, WPA/Corcoran), Sr. M.V. Clark (Director Ejecutivo del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo), Dra. Claudia Rousseau (Profesora del Colegio de Arte y Diseño de Maryland), y Sra. Olga Herrera (Directora de Programas de Iniciativas Latinas del Smithsonian). La exhibición ha sido patrocinada en parte por la Comision de las Artes y las Humanidades del Distrito de Columbia.
